Hilary Meredith Solicitors was established in October 2003 by Hilary Meredith with only 3 staff. Now the firm employs 38 staff and occupies the whole of the building, Churchgate House. The building has been adapted so it is accessible for clients who use wheelchairs.
Since October 2003, Hilary has received instructions from as far a field as Kuwait, Canada, the Faulklands and Afghanistan and recovered more than £9m worth of damages for her clients. Both the Catastrophic and Industrial Disease department have expanded over the 4 years.
Hilary spent 17 years at a leading Manchester law firm where she held the position of Managing Partner. She specialised in personal injury claims and built-up an impressive reputation acting on behalf of military personnel. The firm is currently handling a confidential case valued at around £6m and has received instructions to act on behalf of someone whose parachute was wrongly packed in Botswana.
In 2004, David Edwards joined the firm as a Partner to establish the Road Traffic Accident/Employment Liability department. This department now has a dedicated team of 14 working to give client's support throughout their case resulting in a satisfactory settlement.
In 2007, Jan Tompson joined the firm to offer advise on Clinical Negligence cases.
