£12.1 million settlement in road traffic accident case
Dianne Yates and the team at Hilary Meredith Solicitors acted for a child who sustained life threatening and life changing injuries in a road traffic accident. Contributory negligence was alleged and a spilt trial on liability ordered. Subsequently, liability was admitted in full. Significant interim payments were received alongside a full case management, support and rehabilitation package. The case ultimately settled for £12.1 million.
£7.8 million for pedestrian hit by car
In a high-profile case Dianne Yates acted for a pedestrian who sustained severe, life threatening and life changing injuries after being hit by a car.
The pedestrian stepped out between vehicles and was struck by the oncoming car. Liability was denied and case proceeded to trial. At first instance, contributory negligence was found as against the claimant but the case was appealed to the Court of Appeal where the pedestrian was successful leading ultimately to an award of £7.8 million.
£5.25 million brain injury case
Hilary Meredith Solicitors acted for a client who sustained a severe brain injury. This was a long-standing case transferred from other Solicitors by the litigation friend who dissatisfied with the lack of progress specifically sought Dianne Yates’ assistance due to her expertise and that of the team.
