80 years ago our country went through one of the most momentous days in its history with victory in Europe after Germany surrendered to the Allies after almost six years of brutal war on the continent.
The Second World War generation changed the course of history. These men and women defended the freedoms we enjoy today. Today, on the 80th Anniversary of VE Day, we pay tribute to their service and sacrifice.
