Armed Forces champion Hilary Meredith-Beckham made Dame of Royal Order of Francis I

Leading UK solicitor and armed forces champion Hilary Meredith-Beckham has been appointed a Dame of the Royal Order of Francis I, in recognition of her longstanding legal and charitable support for service personnel, veterans and their families.

The honour was conferred at a formal investiture ceremony attended by senior clergy, diplomats and distinguished guests, reflecting the Order’s focus on service, charity and international goodwill.
Hilary Meredith-Beckham has dedicated her career to representing servicemen and women, while campaigning for improved rights and protections. Through her work with Hilary Meredith Solicitors and the Royal British Legion, she has secured landmark outcomes for clients and helped raise national awareness of the challenges faced by the Armed Forces community.
The Royal Order of Francis I is a historic dynastic order awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service in the fields of charity, public life and international relations. Appointments are conferred by the Head of the Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies.
The Order has previously recognised distinguished international figures across public life, diplomacy and faith, including Margaret Thatcher, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and former Archbishops of Canterbury Rowan Williams and George Carey, reflecting its long-standing association with service, leadership and humanitarian contribution at the highest levels.
