Hilary Meredith Solicitors has been announced as a Gold Champion of the Invictus Games Birmingham 2027.

The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 will bring together up to 550 competitors from up to 25 countries.
Founded by Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, the Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event first held in 2014, for wounded, injured and sick military service personnel, both serving and veterans. The word 'Invictus' is Latin for 'unconquered', chosen as an embodiment of the fighting spirit of the wounded, injured and sick service personnel and what they can achieve, post-injury.
Hilary Meredith Solicitors is the UK’s leading military law firm with over 20 years’ experience acting for service personnel, veterans and their families.
Commenting on the firm’s support of the Invictus Games, founder and chair, Hilary Meredith-Beckham said: "Through my work with servicemen and women throughout the world, I’ve witnessed the sacrifices made by our forces and their families all too often and I am constantly inspired by their strength, determination and courage.
“Few events embody these qualities as profoundly as the Invictus Games - an international showcase of courage and recovery for wounded, injured, and sick personnel and veterans from the military.
“This unique event has grown into a symbol of hope and determination for veterans around the world.
“I am so proud Hilary Meredith Solicitors is supporting Invictus as a Gold Champion.”
Marking a historic return, the 2027 Games will signal the Games' first venture back to UK soil since Prince Harry inaugurated them in London in 2014.
The Duke, serving as the patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, conveyed his elation in a heartfelt statement: "We have no doubt the people of Birmingham will join in celebrating the unwavering respect and admiration we have for our veteran and service community, showing the world how their courage ignites hope and unites us all - something your city knows well."
The event will be held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham with the opening ceremony taking place on Saturday 10 July 2027 and the closing party is due to be held on Saturday 17 July 2027.
Birmingham has a long-standing connection to the Armed Forces and the veteran community.
Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine and Fisher House, which supports Armed Forces patients and their families, have all made an invaluable contribution to supporting injured service personnel and veterans in recent years.
"These Games will shine a light on Birmingham's incredible community spirit and the West Midlands' strong commitment to supporting the recovery and rehabilitation of our Armed Forces community," said Helen Helliwell, the CEO of Birmingham 2027.
At the closing ceremony at the last Invictus Games in Vancouver, Veterans Minister Al Carns received the Invictus flag, which will remain in the UK's possession until the end of the Birmingham Games.
Mr Carns, who is also the MP for Birmingham Selly Oak, paid tribute to the participants.
"With the dates set, Birmingham stands ready to deliver an Invictus Games worthy of those injured while bravely serving their country, whose unbreakable spirit and determination to overcome mental and physical challenges inspires us all," he said.
"In July 2027, I invite the world to Birmingham to witness these remarkable people firsthand and understand what it truly means to serve, sacrifice and prevail."
